This tour is specifically for family, easy and small groups as you will get the chance to walk the Inca Trail in small sections, this trip is full of experiences with the highlight of the unforgettable Machu Picchu. When you see it from the sun gate on the last afternoon and the next day for sunrise, be prepared to have your heart stolen and a mark left on your soul.

Itinerary Day 1° - Cusco – KM82 – Wayllabamba: Our day starts early in the morning, leaving from Cusco and driving to Piscacucho (KM82, the starting point of the Inca Trail, 2600mamsl). The ride takes approx. 2 hours, so enjoy your time resting as we drive through the beautiful Sacred Valley. We will stop to have breakfast on the way to build up our energy in preparation to start walking. We will meet our amazing porters are in Pisacucho, who will carry all of the camping equipment as well as our luggage throughout the trek. Our walk starts with a gentle climb along the river for approx. 3 hours. It’s important to remember to take in everything around you as it’s truly remarkable. We will have our lunch at Miskay after a short rest there we will then start to climb to get a good view of the first Incan building called Llactapata., we will continue onwards for 2 hours to our first camp site Wayllabamba.

Day 2° - Wayllabamba – Warmihuañuska (Dead Woman’s Pass) – Paqaymayo: After our breakfast we begin the biggest climb where we will be surrounded by native plants. After resting a bit to digest, we will walk uphill for another 2 hours to our lunch place Llulluchapampa (3800 mamsl). The total distance to be covered is 12km which should take approx. 8 hours.

to Dead Woman’s Pass (the highest point on the hike being 4250mamsl). As we walk along the Kusichac stream, remember to stop and look at the amazing scenery surrounding you. After a well-deserved rest at the top, we begin our 2 hour descent of to Pacaymayu, where we will have our camp. This place has a spectacular view over the valley.

Day 3° – Paqaymayu - Chakiqocha – Phuyupatamarka: After our delicious breakfast, we start ascending and walk for 2 two hours to reach our second highest point called Runkurakay (3950mamsl). It is along this path that we stop at another Incan site. Then the climbing is done for the day, and it’s time to descend 3 hours to Chaquicoka for our lunch. After lunch our hike starts with a gentle climb for thirty minutes, before walking on a nice, even path through the cloud forest, feeling as if you are on top of the world. There, we will arrive to Phuyupatamarca, and you will have some time to explore and relax in this unique place to enjoy the best sun set you ever have in your life. Here we’ll have our last camp and enjoy our dinner on top of the mountains. The 16km distance will take approx. 10 hours to cover.

Day 4° Phuyupatamarka - Winaywayna - Machupicchu: You’re nearly there! This day starts very early so we can wake up early to watch the sun rise over our camp site - a truly remarkable experience. After or breakfast from this point we descend for three hours on stone steps, enjoying the view of the Urubamba Valley and river as we go. Finally arriving at the Winaywayna campsite, we will have our box lunch, spending, relaxing and walking around the famous Incan site, after our lunch we will walk for 1.20 min, enjoying the panoramic views of Urubamba River. All the sweat and tears are worth it when you reach these iconic Sun Gate or Inti Punku and take that postcard worthy picture to remember your accomplishment. We will explore the site, learning about the history and you will also have some free time to have a look around. At the end of the day, we will get a bus to Machupicchu town where you can enjoy a hot shower and a nice, warm bed!

Day 5° – Machu Picchu – Ollantaytambo - Cusco: After the taste of Machu Picchu at the Sun rise, you will be raring to go at the beginning of this second day. This is your time to explore these iconic ruins and take that postcard picture. You will meet your guide, and they will tell you the historical aspects as you walk around, and you can experience the life of a true Inca. Afterwards, it will be time to say farewell to the mighty Machu Picchu – an incredible place that is sure to leave an imprint on your soul. But don’t be too sad, as you can enjoy one last beautiful sunset over the Peruvian Andes on the way back to Cusco.
