Fancy a challenge? Want to immerse yourself in the beautiful surroundings? You can fulfill both these wishes on this trek. Follow the ancient paths through forests, up and down mountains, and past crumbling ruins. It’ll all be worth it when you spot the mighty Machu Picchu as you approach it.


Duration:04 - 05 full days / 03 – 04 nights 


Itinerary: Day 01°. Cusco- Mollepata – Soraypampa We start with an approx. 3 hour drive to Mollepata town  where we’ll stop for a coffee and after 20 more minute  we will start our trek. We’ll walk close to an ancient water canal this section is gradually easy, after our lunch we’ll continue the walk until Soraypampa or first camp.

*Our overnight stay will be at Camp Site.


Day 02°. Soraypampa – Salkantay pass Andenes – Qollpapampa: This is the most challenging day but the most beautiful views will keep you going. We will walk uphill for 4 hours to the highest point, which is called Salcantay Pass (4600mamsl) and see a spectacular view of the snow-capped mountains. The afternoon is easier with a descent to the stunning cloud forest where we will spend the night.

*Our overnight stay will be at Camp Site.


Day 3°. Playa Sahuayaco – Hidro Electrica - Aguas Calientes:  We will have some breakfast at our campsite to prepare us for the day ahead. We then start our walk down into the valley following the route along the Lluskamayu River, an area full of tropical fruits and coffee plantations. You have the opportunity to try these fruits, but also to buy snacks and soft drinks. Our campsite is in a small village called La Playa (2400mamsl) where we will stop for the night this day is the final hike to Aguas Calientes. Or where we will catch our afternoon train to Aguas Calientes (optional). You can enjoy a hot shower and bed on this night to refresh.

*Our overnight stay will be at a hotel in Machu Picchu.


Day 4° Machu Picchu – Ollantaytambo - Cusco: Early in the morning, the bus will take us to Machu Picchu Inca City where you will meet your guide. When you get inside these amazing ruins, every minute of the trek will be worth it. You can enjoy learning about the history through your guide, and take that postcard picture you promised everyone at home. It really is a once in a lifetime experience. Once you’ve had a look around by yourself, we will bid farewell to the mighty Machu Picchu. After all that walking, it’s time to put your feet up and enjoy the sunset over the Peruvian Andes on the bus back to Cusco.

*Our overnight stay will be at a hotel in Cusco.
