Itinerary Day 1° – Quito or Guayaquil – Santa Cruz: We highly recommend to get Quito or Guayaquil the night before you start the tour, some international connection landed late that make to lose the connection flight to Galapagos. Please be at Quito or Guayaquil airport 2 hours before your flight to Galapagos Island. In Baltra, our specialist guide will meet you and take you to the island of Santa Cruz. After lunch, we visit Tortuga Bay (2 km away), which is recognize for its white sand, its crystal waters and waves. During the walk to the beach, we will cross the tropical dry forest with stunning Giant Cacti, only found on the Galapagos, At Tortuga Bay you will find many marine birds such as frigates, pelicans and oystercatchers. Just behind the beach you can rent a kayak to explore the area. Time-permitting, you can visit the Charles Darwin Research Station on your own.

Day 2° – Day trip to an uninhabited island: Enjoy a full day trip to one of the uninhabited islands of the archipelago which are easily accessible from Santa Cruz. The boat ride takes 1 to 2 hours each way, depending on the destination. Lunch is served on board. The boats hold 16 to 20 passengers and have a bathroom, sun deck and purified water dispenser. Each of the islands has something interesting to offer in terms of wildlife and landscape. Based on availability, you will visit one of these: Santa Fe, South Plazas, North Seymour or Bartholomew.

Day 3° – Highlands – Day tour: This morning you will go to Manzanillo or El Chato farm in the highlands of Santa Cruz. Here, you will have your first glimpse of a Galapagos Giant Tortoise in its natural habitat. These enormous creatures roam freely between the National Park and agricultural areas. This visit offers the ideal opportunity to view these ancient creatures munching on lush green vegetation or wallowing in the mud of the seasonal pools that attract them from the lowlands during the dry winter season. At certain times in the year, migratory shore birds can be seen, too. This guided tour includes a walk through open fields and forest. A basic cafeteria and clean toilets are available on these farms and some offer rubber boots in case of muddy conditions. After lunch, enjoy a bay tour at Lobería and Punta Estrada to snorkel with the sea lions! Then, continue to Tintoreras channel, Canal del Amor, and a short hike to Las Grietas where you can swim in this crystal clear natural crevasse.

Day 4° – Bay trip to an uninhabited island: Enjoy a full day trip to one of the uninhabited islands of the archipelago which are easily accessible from Santa Cruz. Day 5° – Baltra – Guayaquil or Quito: After breakfast, travel to Baltra Airport, visiting en route The Twins which are similar to craters, but formed by a collapse of the earth underneath due to lava flows that passed below it. We will also walk through the scalesia forest to encounter Galapagos fly-catchers and other endemic birds. The tour will end upon arrival to the airport where you will return to Quito or Guayaquil.
